The following information applies to InterActive Desks and their associated shelves, tables, returns, wood cabinets, and their accessories. Items that ship from a third party manufacturer may ship differently, however we will inform you if that occurs. Please note that wood tops and shelf items are carefully protected and shipped flat packed as a group and will be delivered to the customer on a pallet. It is the customer's responsibility to unwrap the pallet and move the components into their building. Components are not individually boxed. File cabinets will often ship separately from a different factory so there may be more than one common carrier delivery. Hardware and accessories will ship via UPS directly from WorkSpaces to the client.
When your order is initially entered the complete arrangements for delivery will be known to you so long as you alert us to any special delivery requirements. For example if there are heavy objects a liftgate will be required and will be on your sales order in the freight total. Many "online drop shippers" will obscure this requirement by offering "tailgate delivery" in order to make their freight rates seem low or "free". Be aware that common carriers will absolutely not deliver moderately heavy objects without a liftgate and that always costs extra. Many of these "drop shippers" also will leave it up to the customer to negotiate with the carrier for added services (slightly infuriating). WorkSpaces will always be the one to deal with the carrier and to provide all the services required, which will be specified prior to the shipment leaving the factory. Our shipping costs are all known by you before the order is entered.
When your order leaves WorkSpaces we will notify you via email with the carrier and tracking number so you can monitor the status of your delivery.
Shipping costs are determined by your geographic location, whether residential or commercial address, the weight of your shipment, and the level of delivery service you choose (see below). We ship to Alaska and Hawaii. Rates will be quoted to you before you confirm your order. These fees reflect the considerable discounts we get off national freight rates. Please check the Products & Prices page for any current specials running on freight charges.
West Coast is 2-3 business days
Midwest is 3-4 business days
East Coast is 5-6 business days (Manhattan NY can take an extra day or two)
Alaska and Hawaii transit times may be affected by which weekday a ship is leaving Seattle. We will provide transit times in your quote.

Additional time is required for shipments to Canada due to cross-border regulations. We will provide transit times for Canadian locations with quotes. The customer will be responsible for paying for all VAT taxes and border crossing fees.
Normally our lead times are 2-3 weeks to fabricate standard items and prepare them for shipping. Longer lead times may apply if special requirements or product specials are involved.
Customers near Seattle have two options for delivery. You can 1) pick up your order at our Newcastle address (small shipments only) or 2) have it delivered to your address. Even better you can order it from our new exclusive dealer Worknooks.com and pick it up at their showroom.
Your order will be shipped to the delivery address noted in the "Ship To" box on your invoice. Any address change must be made in writing and acknowledged in writing by WorkSpaces before shipment. Rerouting while in transit will incur additional charges which will be billed to the customer's credit card. Carrier storage charges for delayed shipments are the responsibility of the customer and will be billed accordingly.
Bookcase Assembly
Curbside Delivery, No Liftgate, lightweight objects (least expensive residential option). A $25 residential delivery fee is added to the customers invoice.
Delivery to customer's curb in front of house. Individual packages are handed to customer from truck bed by driver. Driver may at their discretion help customer hand-truck items inside the customer's garage but are under no obligation to do so. Driver will not enter the house.
Liftgate Delivery the pallet is left in the driveway (pallet can be removed by driver upon request). An extra liftgate fee of $25 will be added for orders with heavy components or pallet delivery.
Delivery Schedule The freight terminal will call to schedule a four-hour delivery window (which they make every effort to meet but do not guarantee, as delays can be caused by weather, mechanical failure or unforeseen circumstances). An exact hour appointment can be scheduled for an added fee.
WHITE GLOVE Delivery, Inside Residence
Eliminates all other delivery charges. Delivery to the room of choice inside the customer's house. Professional movers will schedule an appointment with you to bring your componennts and place them in the room of choice. Standard service includes going up two flights of stairs. Delivery agent will remove major debris such as the pallet, shrink wrap, etc. but will not unpack the components and they do not assemble furniture. Assembly can be arranged for your order as a separate service if desired.
TERMINAL PICKUP
Depending on your shipment and location, you may be able to pick your shipment up at a freight terminal, which would save you the residential and lift gate fees when applicable. You would need a vehicle with the capacity to carry the shipment. Personnel at the freight terminal would help you load it. You could track your shipment online and then call the terminal when it has arrived to arrange a pick up time. If interested, ask us whether this option is available for your order.
DOCK-TO-DOCK Delivery is standard for commerical shipments (Least expensive option) Delivery on banded pallet to commercial dock with forklift or pallet jack. No delivery beyond dock and no assembly.
CURBSIDE/STREET Delivery With Lift gate Truck
Delivery to waiting customer with liftgate truck for offloading heavy components. Customer carries boxes/components into their building.
INSIDE Delivery, Commercial Building
Delivery into room of choice inside customer's building and to floor of choice as long as there is an elevator. If no elevator then to first floor or lobby. Must be hand-truck friendly building layout.
UPS or Fed Ex Ground
UPS or Fed Ex Ground services are used for smaller orders and for destinations that require delivery by air, barge or ferry.
Regardless of the delivery option chosen, IT IS THE CUSTOMER'S OBLIGATION TO INSPECT THE ARRIVING COMPONENTS OR BOXES FOR SIGNS OF EXTERIOR DAMAGE. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL PREVENT WORKSPACES FROM FILING A DAMAGE CLAIM IN BEHALF OF THE CUSTOMER. Please do not delegate this responsibility to an uninformed third party. DO NOT SIGN THE RECEIVING BILL-OF-LADING PRESENTED BY THE DRIVER WITHOUT NOTING ANY DAMAGE OBSERVED, NO MATTER HOW SLIGHT THE EXTERIOR DAMAGE APPEARS. If you have any doubts about this policy contact WorkSpaces Inc. prior to receipt of shipment.
Desks are not difficult to set up and come with excellent, large graphic instructions. The amount of time it will take will depend on the configuration you have chosen and whether you have an extra pair of hands to help you. Feedback from customers is that although it does take a few hours to set up, assembly is quicker and easier than they had expected, and the instructions are clear and helpful. If you have wall mounted shelves and cabinets and do not own a lot of tools you will want a professional installer to do your assembly.
WorkSpaces has relationships with professional commercial installers in every major metropolitan area in the USA. If you need installation and assembly services please have us obtain a quote based on your invoice configuration. Under this option the installer will also unpack and remove all materials. Shipment can either be shipped direct to customer or to the installer depending on the least costly option which WorkSpaces will assist you in determining.
