Striving For Integration, Efficiency, and Ergonomics
One of the recurring problems we see with existing customer office furnishings is the dis- jointed, un-integrated nature of the separate pieces. Bought at different times from a variety of stores the furniture pieces simply do not work well together. When you buy individual "items" they will almost never relate to each other for work efficiency. WorkSpaces on the other hand starts with your room shape and dimensions, adds your individual work prefer- ences, and then develops a master space plan designed around that specific space. We take our standard modular desk top shapes and customize them as required to support the master plan. And there is no charge for this design service! In the photo and CAD drawing at left, you see an actual customer project that was done in 2011. The client had purchased high quality furnishings over time but the individual pieces did not relate to each other in a systematic manner. In addition their computer technology and the way they used it had outgrown the size and shape of the desks they had pur- chased. Lastly their two children are entering the upper elementary grades now and were working on a computers for school work and social entertainment. The room had to accept four persons in a computer environment.
Customizing Standard Products ... Quickly and Inexpensively
First the customer emailed us a dimensioned sketch of the room along with digital photos. Then after phone consultations about their needs, we provided several alternative layouts that might work. The client selected one layout and we proceeded to refine and elaborate on that layout until they were satisfied with it. Then we quoted the project and 3 weeks later it arrived for installation.
As you can see from the drawing, the room had to be kept open to permit flow through to the closet at the end. Also they each wanted some privacy so they are facing away from each other. The work surface pieces shown are all standard items that have been modified to fit this plan. In this way costs were kept reasonable and yet the custom need was satis- fied. Note how the desks on each side are continuous and interconnected providing lots of desk top space for spreading out work and storing work items. There are no gaps or voids between the desks.
This type of approach is simply not available from high volume, online drop-ship web sites. You have to find a smaller specialized company with the expertise to handle all aspects of the design need, like WorkSpaces! And the easy decision is that the space planning design service is free!
